purpose of effective implementation of the
Promoting and supporting law reform;
Conducting Seminars on legal topics,

To visit and inspect the Universities in
accordance with direction given by Bar
Council of India under Cl.I Sub-Section -I
of Sec. 7.
Further the State Bar Council may constitute
one or more funds in the prescribed manner
for the purpose of providing financial
assistance to the indigent deceased and

The Orissa State Bar Council has the

Besides as stipulated U/s 9 of Advocates
Act,1961 the State Bar Council shall
constitute one or more Disciplinary
Committees. Each Committee consists of 3
Members . At present the Council has
constituted six Disciplinary Committees for
looking into the complaints against the
Advocates alleged to have been involved in
the professional misconduct.

One of the main functions of the Orissa
State Bar Councils is to grant affiliation
to the Bar Association and at present there
are nearly 140 Bar Associations through out
the State of Orissa duly affiliated by
Orissa State Bar council Bar Associations
are regularly given financial assistance for
establishment of Library.
